The Outsiders, the studio behind Metal Hellsinger, closes down
The decision follows Funcom's layoffs

The Outsiders is a Swedish studio led by David Goldfarb, an industry veteran who played important roles in the creation of titles such as Mirror's Edge, Battlefield 3 and Bad Company, Payday 2, and many others. Founded about ten years ago, The Outsiders came close to closing in 2020 when it was forced to cancel its first project, Darkborn, after four years of work.
The closure of The Outsiders
In 2022, the studio's first and only game was released: Metal: Hellsinger, a mix of FPS and rhythm game that didn't quite convince us. The Outsiders belongs to Funcom, a Norwegian company (itself owned by Tencent) which a few days ago announced a wave of layoffs, despite things going quite well this year with the launch of Dune Awakening.
Unfortunately, the wave of layoffs has engulfed The Outsiders: Goldfarb announced the closure of the studio via social media. The American game designer adds, however, that the team members do not intend to give up and will try to continue their journey in some way.
