Project Windless: Krafton's new game announced

The Korean company Krafton has announced Project Windless, a single-player action/RPG based on The Bird That Drinks Tears cycle, a fantasy novel series by writer Lee Youngdo. This series tells of a world contested between humans and three other races: one of these, the Rekon, is made up of powerful bird-like creatures. Project Windless is set 1,500 years before the books: here we will take control of a member of the Rekon, a valiant leader who has the appearance of a large anthropomorphic rooster.

Project Windless Gameplay

The first trailer for Project Windless, which we've included below, shows battles where hundreds and hundreds of soldiers clash. The hero of Project Windless will lead an army and face enemies firsthand: the enormous number of adversaries on screen and the action mechanics of the combat are somewhat reminiscent of the musou genre, but more bloody. There will be an open world to explore with great freedom.

When and Where Project Windless Releases

Project Windless is in development at an internal Krafton studio based in Montreal. A launch window has not been shared, but you can rest assured that it will not be released anytime soon. For now, the only confirmed platform is PlayStation 5.
