Pac-Man: Bandai Namco Closes Multiplayer Game
Former Stadia exclusive heading for delisting

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is the title of a battle-royale game set in the psychedelic corridors of Bandai Namco's hungry yellow sphere, which initially debuted in 2019 as an exclusive for the Google Stadia system. With the cessation of the service in January 2023, the game remained in limbo until its reappearance on stores for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in May 2024.
Just over a year after that launch, Bandai Namco now announces the imminent closure of the game, doing so with a terse message on X:
PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs update:
— Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia (@BandaiNamcoSEA) September 30, 2025
We’d like to share an important update regarding PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs. Product sales will end on 1 November 2025. Gameplay services will end on 31 December 2025, and the game will no longer be playable.
Starting November 1, 2025, it will no longer be possible to purchase the product on any store, and the game servers will be decommissioned on December 31, thus decreeing the "death" of the game, as it is an online-only product. A subsequent post specifies that the exact date may vary by region, but the fate of Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is nonetheless sealed.
This is a rather peculiar choice considering that 2025 has been dedicated to celebrations for the 45th anniversary of Pac-Man, with two significant launches such as Shadow Labyrinth – which we reviewed – and PAC-MAN WORLD 2: RePAC. Evidently, however, Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs did not achieve sufficient success...
