Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Brainiac Changes the Game
The new adventure could be the first true meeting point between different figures of the DCU

The next threat to Superman could come from very far away, but to face it, Clark Kent would need help from the person least suited to be on his side: Lex Luthor. This is one of the scenarios suggested by the latest rumors about Superman: Man of Tomorrow, which describe a much broader film than the previous chapter.
Putting the Man of Steel in difficulty would be Brainiac, whose appearance on Earth could transform the new adventure into the first true meeting point between different figures of the DCU. According to rumors, Luthor would not remain on the sidelines of the story and would even participate directly in the action, with a sequence set inside a prison. Brainiac's presence would also open the door to numerous characters already known to the public or destined to enter the universe created by James Gunn soon.
The DCU Begins to Cross Paths

The story could also reunite characters already introduced or soon to debut, from Supergirl to John Stewart, passing through Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Blue Beetle, and The Engineer. More uncertain remains the participation of Adria Arjona, indicated by rumors as both Maxima and a possible Wonder Woman. Brainiac should also have an appearance far from the traditional image of a simple technological villain.
Meanwhile, James Gunn has reportedly chosen to broaden the scope of the story compared to the first Superman. The project should still feature David Corenswet as Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult by his side. Superman: Man of Tomorrow is expected in theaters on July 9, 2027, with all plot details yet to be confirmed.
