Override – Sci-Fi Between Faith and Synthetic Angels
Left for dead in battle, a female soldier is “saved” by a synthetic angel

There's a sci-fi project in the works that seems to have emerged from a dream or a delusion, titled Override. Directed by Jordan Downey (The Head Hunter), the film appears to combine spiritual elements with technology and adrenaline in a narrative that could shake viewers.
Filming has just begun in Belfast, a city that has become an international hub for major productions, with a cast featuring Frank Grillo and Maria Bakalova in a duel between flesh and silicon.

The story imagines a future where a female soldier, left for dead in battle, is “saved” by a synthetic angel, an artificial intelligence designed to intervene in conflicts. But what should be a rescue mission soon transforms into a philosophical and spiritual confrontation: can a machine restore humanity to someone who has lost it?
Sci-Fi Thriller and Philosophical Reflections
Produced by Tea Shop Productions — the same team behind Fall and 47 Meters Down — and distributed by Capture, Override aims to be much more than a futuristic action film. Downey describes it as “a spiritual experience disguised as an SF thriller, a journey between faith and algorithms that echoes the existential dilemmas of Blade Runner and Lucy.”

With Grillo and Bakalova grappling with characters torn between salvation and programming, Override seems to point towards that kind of science fiction accompanied by the most ancient question: what does it truly mean to be human?
