Nintendo Denies Data Theft by Hackers
The Super Mario company refutes Crimson Collective

The latest major victim of a data theft by hackers could have been Nintendo: a group of cyber pirates, called Crimson Collective, recently claimed a breach in the big N's servers, from which information on titles in development would have been taken. With suspicious timing, information about Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which is being released today, then surfaced online.

Yet, according to those directly involved, game data - and other sensitive information - would not have been stolen. In a statement to the Japanese newspaper Sankei Shinbun, a company spokesperson stated that no external servers hosting Nintendo's website were affected; however, no leak of personal, company, or in-development game information occurred. No evidence of any intrusion has been found.
