Marathon Tries Again: New Alpha-Test on the Horizon
Bungie prepares invitations

Marathon is certainly not one of those titles whose development has been quick and smooth; quite the opposite: Bungie's multiplayer shooter seems to still be mired in a tumultuous development phase and has been repeatedly postponed.
Nevertheless, the home of Destiny and Sony above them do not seem at all inclined to abandon the project, and soon it might be possible to see some light at the end of the tunnel [perhaps]. Colleagues at Kotaku report that Bungie has opened a registration form to sign up for a new Alpha-Testing session to take place between October 22nd and 27th.
As of this writing, however, the linked page leads to a completely empty page: we don't know if the form is temporarily offline, if Bungie removed it because they have already reached the required number of testers, or if the Alpha was hastily canceled due to yet another development issue. What is certain is that what has been shown of Marathon so far has definitely not convinced users - we discussed it in our Special - and it is therefore reasonable to assume that both Bungie and Sony intend to tread carefully [especially given the precedents].
Marathon is in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and, of course, PS5.
