Longlegs 2: Cage's Dark Return in 2028
Not a direct sequel, the film will aim for something less conventional

After weeks of rumors, confirmation has arrived: the universe of Longlegs will return to cinemas with a new chapter scheduled for January 14, 2028, distributed by Paramount Pictures.
The project will again be led by Osgood Perkins, once more behind the camera, joined by Nicolas Cage, who will also return as protagonist and producer.
More than a direct sequel, the film is described as a new story set in the same narrative universe. The plot remains shrouded in mystery, but it is certain that Perkins personally wrote the screenplay, thus maintaining creative control over the project's evolution. Several names already involved in the first film are participating in the production, confirming the desire to preserve its identity and tone.
Not a sequel, but an expansion

The previous Longlegs, distributed by NEON, had grossed over 120 million dollars globally in 2024, winning over audiences and critics thanks to a promotional campaign built on mystery.
One of the most discussed elements was indeed the choice to completely hide the appearance of Cage's character until its theatrical release, contributing to a disturbing and unpredictable impact.
It remains to be seen how this new story will connect to that experience, but considering Perkins' mastery of the genre, it is entirely plausible that this return will not follow conventional paths.
