Heat 2 - Star-studded Cast in Sight for Michael Mann's Return

Thirty years after the release of Heat, Michael Mann is ever closer to bringing his criminal universe back to the screen. After the project moved to United Artists, production has reportedly begun negotiations with some of Hollywood's biggest names.

According to rumors, Leonardo DiCaprio is the main candidate to play Chris Shiherlis, the character made famous by Val Kilmer, while Christian Bale would take on the legacy of Al Pacino in the role of detective Vincent Hanna. Among the profiles being considered are also Adam Driver, indicated as the favorite for the criminal Otis Wardell, and Stephen Graham, who could play the young Neil McCauley, portrayed in the original film by Robert De Niro.
