Jake Gyllenhaal - New High-Tension Netflix Thriller

Jake Gyllenhaal is preparing a new project for Netflix, and early rumors already point to an adult and realistic action thriller. The film is titled Kill Switch from Harrison Query, a rapidly rising screenwriter in Hollywood.

According to early reports, the atmosphere is reminiscent of Michael Mann's Collateral and Denis Villeneuve's Sicario: constant tension, contemporary crime, and characters forced to navigate morally ambiguous zones. There are no official plot details yet, but the reference to two such intense titles suggests a lean narrative, devoid of superfluous spectacle and built more on suspense than on effects.

New High-Tension Adventure

For Gyllenhaal, this is yet another foray into mature action cinema, far from superhero blockbusters. This direction is consistent with his recent choices, which see him alternating between different platforms without giving up dramatic stories.

In parallel, the actor is also involved in Code Black, a political thriller produced by Amazon MGM Studios, and will return to Prime Video with the sequel to Road House, following the success of the 2024 remake. Kill Switch does not yet have a release date, but Netflix seems to be betting heavily on the project. With Gyllenhaal as the protagonist and a distinctly tense and realistic tone, expectations are high. This work adds to the other 11(!) projects involving the American actor.
