Cape Fear: New Trailer with Bardem is Pure Tension
The return of one of the most unsettling stories in American thrillers

Apple TV+ has finally unveiled the first true trailer for Cape Fear and the tension is immediate: Javier Bardem manages to make Max Cady even more disturbing without needing excesses or over-the-top scenes.
The new series, arriving on June 5, brings back one of the most unsettling stories in American thrillers, previously adapted in 1991 by Martin Scorsese with Robert De Niro in the lead role. This time, however, the tone seems even darker and more psychological.
The trailer focuses entirely on emotional tension
In the images released by Apple TV+, Bardem appears as a constant and oppressive presence. He speaks little, observes much, and conveys the feeling that something could explode at any moment. It is precisely this glacial calm that makes the character so unsettling.
The series follows the return of Max Cady after years in prison. Convinced he was wronged, the man returns to torment the Bowden family, slowly transforming their lives into a nightmare of fear, paranoia, and psychological pressure.
Alongside Bardem will be Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson as the Bowden couple, while behind the project are also Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as executive producers.
The trailer hints at a version less tied to classic thrillers and much more interested in delving into the characters' vulnerabilities, building a tense and profoundly unhealthy atmosphere.
