Will GTA 6 Be Playable on PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming?
An inaccurate report and an ambiguous response fuel speculation

Starting next month, playing games via the Xbox Cloud Gaming service will be much less convenient for Game Pass subscribers. Coincidentally, next month also sees the release of the most anticipated title ever, Grand Theft Auto VI, which will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S... unless it can also be played on other devices via streaming, an eventuality that has not yet been confirmed.
The GTA 6 cloud gaming misunderstanding
The topic has become very current in recent hours, after a report from The Verge announced that Xbox had reached an exclusive agreement for GTA 6's streaming rights. The prospect of being the only platform to leverage this potential would make Xbox Cloud Gaming very, very appealing, especially considering that Rockstar Games' title will not be released on PC. However, this information is incorrect.
Matthew Ball, Chief Strategy Officer at Xbox, in a message via Twitter/X, has indeed denied the existence of an exclusive agreement, but he did not clarify the situation. The phrase used by Ball is "Though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC". We can therefore deduce that the agreement The Verge spoke of does not exist, but the rest sounds rather ambiguous.
Ball's words rule out exclusivity, but not the possibility that Grand Theft Auto VI can be played via streaming. It's also unclear whether that "to PC" refers to streaming on PC, or to the fact that there isn't a native version for Xbox PC… Xbox will probably clarify the matter in the coming days; for now, we remain in doubt.
While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.
