Hellraiser: Revival - Developers Explain Its Horror
A revolting journey through human passions

Saber Interactive has shared a new trailer for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, in which the developers try to explain the game's relationship with horror. When the Hellraiser franchise was born in the 80s, it stood out because its villains were less one-dimensional than classic horror movie antagonists and driven by unclear motivations. Hellraiser essentially deals with the theme of desire, particularly what happens when it descends into excess.
The Horror of Hellraiser: Revival
It has been reiterated on several occasions, but it is emphasized once again: Hellraiser: Revival leans heavily into gore; the developers wanted to make its scenes shocking and disturbing (so be careful with the trailer, which as usual is very graphic). To create it, the team was forced to research strong material, which in some cases even uncovered phobias. Amidst the on-screen display of violence, a detailed mutilation system will not be lacking.
The Enemies of Hellraiser: Revival
In Hellraiser: Revival, the enemies encountered along the tortuous path fall into two categories. On one side are the members of the Scarlet Church, a cult led by the enigmatic Marlowe. These are humans, who behave as such and worship the Leviathan of the Labyrinth. On the other side are the Unworthy, who were once human but have transformed into outcast monsters after failing the Cenobites' test.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival will be released on October 8, 2026; you can meet the Cenobites on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). If you'd like to delve deeper into the game, the developers shared additional details late last year.
