Control Resonant will put players in the shoes of Dylan Faden, a man tasked with resolving a supernatural crisis that has struck Manhattan, New York, distorting its gravity. Its creator, the Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment, has shared an in-depth video in which the developers talk about how the series is evolving compared to the first installment, Control.

Control Resonant Gameplay

Control was born with the intention of creating an RPG that had the typical Remedy game imprint. For the second chapter of the saga, the gameplay team has been expanded, and consequently, the experience will expand not only in the role-playing structure but also in the combat system, which integrates melee, ranged attacks, movements, and "paranatural" abilities.

A clear example of this expansion is the weapon wielded by Dylan, called Aberrant, a tool that can take on multiple forms, depending on the skills chosen by the player. It should be noted that the Aberrant assumes a predefined form only when the attack lands, so this aspect might be visible on screen for only a few moments. Remedy will leave the user the freedom to choose which type of weapon to adopt from the beginning of the game.

Control Resonant Enemies

The evolution of Resonant also passes through the enemies: compared to the first Control, significant characterization work has been done; on the battlefield, we will find much more diversified adversaries in terms of roles and sizes. Their design has also been deepened compared to before: the two factions, Hiss and Mold, have been rethought. For example, details have been added to the Molds to truly make them feel like menacing entities from another dimension.

Other Control Resonant Features

In Control Resonant, save slots have been added, so that multiple runs can be done simultaneously. Furthermore, there will be endgame content accessible during the campaign: for example, Shum, a series of unique challenges with leaderboards. We remind you that Control Resonant will arrive in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Epic Games Store.
