Borderlands 4, the new installment in Gearbox Software's famous post-apocalyptic shooter IP, debuted on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S two weeks ago. The game was also announced for Nintendo Switch 2, although its release date was set from the beginning for a few weeks later, more precisely on October 3rd.

Unfortunately for users of Nintendo's new hybrid console, it seems they will have to wait a bit longer before they can dive into crazy shootouts on the planet Kairos: Gearbox has announced that this version will be delayed indefinitely.

"We need to share that the release of Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 is being delayed. We do not take this decision lightly, but are committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible experience to our fans, and the game needs additional development and polish to do so. Our hope is to better align this release with the addition of cross-save, which we are working on and consider very important. We will update you on the timing of the new release as soon as we have adjusted our plans. In accordance with Nintendo's policies, all digital pre-orders will be canceled." The statement goes on to inform fans about the possibility of requesting a refund through the retailer or platform used, starting with the Nintendo e-Shop.

In any case, the delay is "indefinite," so it's best to get comfortable...
