The next chapter in the Call of Duty series will be Modern Warfare 4, dragging players into a contemporary world ravaged by a major conflict, originating in the Korean peninsula and then expanding globally. Activision's new shooter, developed by Infinity Ward, will launch on October 26, but we'll be able to see it in action as early as Sunday, as part of the Xbox showcase.

Call of Duty returns to a Nintendo console

Regarding Modern Warfare 4's platforms, we noted that the Call of Duty franchise has decided to break free from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but the most significant news is another: its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2. It had been since 2013, since the days of Wii U, that Kyoto had seen an Activision shooter. But how will the game perform on hardware less powerful than the competition's? Well, at least according to industry insiders.

Jack O’Hara, head of the Infinity Ward development studio, interviewed by VGC, is favorably impressed by the Switch 2 hardware, which he says quickly got Modern Warfare 4 running: now it's just a matter of optimization and refining performance. O’Hara even suggests the possibility that Switch 2 will adopt cross-platform multiplayer: according to the studio's internal tests, the feature already works without any problems. We'll have to see, however, if it will be included in the Switch 2 version or not.
