AirPods Pro 4 with IR Cameras? The Latest Apple Leaks
The rumor suggests these components would not be used to take photos or videos

According to online rumors, also reported by major industry publications, the future AirPods Pro could integrate sensors or modules similar to infrared cameras to detect the surrounding environment and enhance advanced features based on spatial audio and artificial intelligence. The rumor suggests that these components would not be used to take photos or videos, but to “see around the wearer”, improving spatial perception and integration with devices like Apple Vision Pro.
The leak, citing an X post by a tipster known as Kosutami, claims that the next AirPods Pro could maintain a price similar to the current generation (around $249 in the USA) despite integrating these new sensors, although technical details and official confirmation from Apple are lacking.
Even More Advanced and Intelligent

These infrared sensors or “camera-like” modules could help the earbuds better understand the environment, improve spatial audio, head tracking, and contextual AI abilities. Analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo had already indicated that Apple is exploring the integration of IR modules for gestures and advanced audio.
Despite the rumors, Apple has not yet confirmed any hardware modifications of this type nor an official launch date for a model with “visual” sensors. However, the interest in using cameras or environmental sensors within earbuds indicates a possible significant evolution of the AirPods Pro line in the coming months.
