Patrice Désilets is a Canadian game designer, known for creating the Assassin's Creed saga. In 2014, after a tumultuous divorce from Ubisoft, Désilets founded his own studio, Panache Digital Games, which took advantage of the Summer Game Fest to announce its second game, 1666: Amsterdam. If the name sounds familiar, there's a reason: it's an old project by Désilets that seemed lost and was last seen about ten years ago.

First details on 1666: Amsterdam

1666: Amsterdam is a third-person action/adventure with a strong narrative focus. 17th-century Amsterdam is a city at the mercy of the Originals, entities that have acquired immense power and hide among humans. The protagonist Noa is a collector, meaning she is tasked with gathering the power of the Originals: to do so, however, she must first locate them among the city's inhabitants and then defeat them with witchcraft.

Where and when 1666: Amsterdam will be released

The new work from Panache studio will be released in the coming months on PC, via Steam and Epic Games Store, in an early access version. If you want to try it, you can find 1666: Amsterdam (Prologue) on the two platforms mentioned, a demo lasting about half an hour, which serves to introduce the game's world and characters, but lacks the main gameplay loop.
