Sinners breaks records with sixteen nominations, but Anderson and Trier are also in the running: all the Oscar 2026 nominations
The 2026 Oscars reward ambition: Sinners dominates with sixteen nominations, One Battle After Another follows with thirteen. All the nominations.

All the films and artists nominated for the 2026 Oscars have just been announced: the nominations were revealed live via streaming by the duo of performers Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, confirming the pre-show favorites.
As predicted, a great year for Warner Bros. is anticipated. Despite being involved in a very difficult sale of its studios and main assets, one of Hollywood's major players clearly dominated the round with the two most nominated films: Ryan Coogler's horror Sinners and Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another. Sinners broke the record for the most nominated film ever with a remarkable sixteen nominations, but it is closely followed by Paul Thomas Anderson's film, which garnered thirteen nominations. There is also a third contender, European and indie: the Norwegian Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier.
However, pay attention to the pursuers Hamnet by Chloé Zhao and Frankenstein by Guillermo Del Toro, which emerge as potential significant outsiders, but also to titles like Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value, and Bugonia, especially in the acting categories. No luck, however, for Playing God, the Italian animated short film in the running for a nomination. It should also be noted that, for the first time in the history of the Academy Awards, the Best Casting category debuts, with its first five nominees.
The awards ceremony will be held on the night of March 15, 2026.
