On August 4, Apex Legends will blow out 30 candles on the cake of Seasons offered to its fanbase since its initial launch in February 2019. And it is precisely the periodicity of the seasons and the constant quarterly load of new features that have proven to be one of the keys to the success of a game that, after 7 years, seems to know no real moments of stagnation, despite the physiological "ups and downs" in audience.

The publication sequence of the various seasons alternates, in addition to new maps or characters, also moments where "simply" new features are introduced that profoundly change the gameplay of the game, inserting new rules and particular conditions capable of revolutionizing the way Apex Legends is understood.

Bloodhound: The Complete Rework of Passive, Tactical, and Ultimate

In particular, this thirtieth season is almost entirely focused on Bloodhound, who undergoes a complete rework of all their characteristics, starting from their passive  (white ravens fly further and activate simply by looking at them, and, moreover, enemies leave trails that allow for more immediate detection), to a tactical ability now capable of performing scans with a greater range and with the possibility of highlighting adversaries for longer, and a truly imposing Ultimate.

If the previous "Beast of the Hunt" transformed our hunter into a bloodthirsty killer, the new Ultimate (which is not by chance called The Allfather's Cloak) manages to make all allies invisible within a certain range of action, also giving them the possibility to enjoy greater movement speed and the ability to visualize incoming threats. A very useful tactical ability, but only for defensive purposes, because shooting or taking damage cancels the ultimate, returning everything to the starting situation.

As Devin Weise, Senior Technical Designer, explains: "the goal was to make Bloodhound a true aggressive hunter, capable of quickly analyzing the battlefield and striking at the enemy's moment of weakness, turning around situations where a squad thinks they have them cornered."

Buffs Coming for Loba and Rampart: What's Changing

In addition to Bloodhound's complete rework, two other characters will integrate two new buffs, namely Loba and Rampart. Our "thief" will have a reduced cooldown for opening the market and a tactical that extends the range of her teleport bracelet to facilitate her tactical escapes. Rampart, on the other hand, will be less burdened by her "Sheila," thus being able to move more easily to become a truly impressive war machine. Furthermore, the Amped Walls are built faster and can withstand a greater load of damage.

A more transversal change concerns loot. In Season 30, special containers, which only benefited certain categories of players, will be eliminated, and the arsenal system and container reset will be revised (though we don't yet know exactly how). The team's objective is to shift players' focus from arsenal management to actual combat.

Corrupted Attachments: Bonuses and Penalties in Final Rounds

A very interesting new feature is related to "Corrupted Attachments," which will appear in the final rounds of the game. These, in addition to providing bonuses to our weapons, will also introduce significant penalties. An example of what is described can be found in the screen below, where you can also notice that weapon statistics are now perfectly visible. A significant change that will introduce considerable variables in game management.

World's Edge Transforms: The Map Dresses Up as Bloodhound

Last but not least, one of Apex Legends' most iconic maps, World's Edge, gets a makeover to pay homage to Bloodhound, who is the true protagonist of the season. The look and feel of the environments will be completely revised, as will the integration of some old areas like Fragment and Sorting Factory.

The Split 1 battle pass obviously includes several bonuses for collectors, including legendary skins for the Mozambique, 10 exotic shards, and the R301 skin if the player has reached Tier 60.
