Berlin and The Lady with an Ermine: everything you need to know about the Money Heist spin-off
Berlin returns with a new heist set in Spain. Between blackmail and ambiguous identities, the second season changes tone and direction.

After bringing Andrés de Fonollosa back to the screen in the 2023 prequel series, the universe of Money Heist expands again with Berlin and The Lady with an Ermine. The project continues the story dedicated to the character played by Pedro Alonso and moves the action from Paris in the first season to Spain. The new chapter maintains a clear link with the franchise's imagery but introduces a different heist and a narrative context built around blackmail and ambiguous identities. The plot of Berlin 2 and The Lady with an Ermine
The new story revolves around a plan devised by Berlin and Damián, who reunite the gang to stage a new big heist in Seville. At the center of the story is the Lady with an Ermine, the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, but the theft of the artwork is not the real objective of the operation.

The heist is actually a cover. The real target is the Duke of Malaga and his wife, a couple convinced they can blackmail Berlin. It is from this confrontation that a darker dimension of the character emerges, already central to his journey within Money Heist and then in the first season of Berlin. If the chapter set in Paris was built around a jewel heist and a more pronounced sentimental component, this new narrative arc seems to move towards a trajectory more linked to revenge.
The change of setting also helps redefine the overall tone. Paris gives way to Seville, which becomes the new main scenario of the series. The subtitle, Berlin and The Lady with an Ermine, already suggests a shift in imagery: from the structure of a pure heist, it moves to a story where the artistic symbol of the painting enters into the very construction of the narrative trap.
The cast of Berlin and The Lady with an Ermine
Pedro Alonso returns as Berlin, i.e., Andrés de Fonollosa. With him, the gang already seen in the first season returns. The return of Michelle Jenner as Keila, Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Begoña Vargas as Cameron, Julio Peña Fernández as Roi, and Joel Sánchez as Bruce is confirmed.

Alongside the original group, new characters are added, destined to play a direct role in the heist set in Spain. Inma Cuesta plays Candela, described as an unpredictable woman from Seville with a fiery temperament. José Luis García-Pérez plays the Duke of Malaga, Álvaro Hermoso de Medina, while Marta Nieto plays Duchess Genoveva Dante.
