Wildgate: Support Ends Less Than a Year After Launch
But servers will remain online and the game accessible

For the umpteenth time on the pages of Gamesurf, we find ourselves discussing a video game that was conceived to receive continuous support over time, a goal that is prematurely interrupted due to a lack of success. The title in question is Wildgate, a sci-fi extraction shooter where players confront each other not only on foot but also, and most importantly, aboard starships. Wildgate was launched in July 2025.
Wildgate's Last Patch
Its developer, Moonshot Games studio, has announced that patch 1.5.4, releasing in July 2026, will be the game's last major update. The reason is that Wildgate has not attracted enough users to continue development. However, Moonshot does not speak of closure: the servers will remain online, and a small group of developers will continue to monitor Wildgate, releasing minor updates to ensure it remains operational.
Wildgate will remain regularly on sale on all platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox PC). Moonshot Games intends to focus its attention on new projects, which will not be revealed for now. Fortunately, the title's lack of success will not force the studio to lay off any staff.
