Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio continue their journey through the locations of Stranger than Heaven: after starting in Kokura, protagonist Makoto Daito stops in Kure, Hiroshima, in the year 1929. About fifteen years have passed since Daito's arrival in Japan, and in the meantime, he has left his youth and, with it, his innocence behind. The new reality he encounters is quite different from that of Kokura.

Kure, the Mirror of a More Modern Japan

Times have changed, and Hiroshima is much more affected by Western influence: in the streets, traces of the process of cultural contamination that would affect 20th-century Japan can be found. For the rest, Kure is a maritime winter location, with snow that can blanket the landscape in white. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's new work will be released on January 15, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Xbox PC), and on Game Pass.
