The Sinking City 2: Gameplay and Horror in a New Trailer
The first look at Calvin's fight against the horrors of Arkham
Frogwares studio has shared the first gameplay trailer for The Sinking City 2. Set in Arkham, a semi-submerged American town from the 1920s, this survival horror tells the story of Calvin Rafferty, an occult specialist who has jeopardized the existence of his fiancée Faye. In a desperate attempt to save her, Calvin travels to Arkham, which has been invaded by assorted Lovecraftian horrors, like those you can see in the trailer.
The Sinking City 2 Gameplay
Another aspect that emerges from the video is the change in direction for The Sinking City series regarding gameplay: Frogwares has decided to embrace an action-oriented approach. A strong affinity with the style of Resident Evil 4 is noticeable: the over-the-shoulder camera, the gunplay, even the way monsters attack Calvin closely resemble Capcom's work, which, over 20 years after its release, confirms its enormous influence on the genre.
