Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux Get Next-Gen Update
The series reaches 50 million copies sold

Publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games announce that the Metro series has recently surpassed the significant milestone of 50 million copies sold. To show their gratitude to players, two titles in the saga will receive an update this month to improve their technical aspects: Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux.
Metro's Next-Gen Update
This update, described as "neither a remaster nor a remake" on the official website, preserves the original visual experience, focusing on the necessary improvements to leverage the latest hardware. It introduces support for 4K textures and increased image detail, refined animations, enhanced audio, corrected some bugs, and tweaked the gameplay experience.
This update has introduced specific features for each platform. On PC, DLSS and spatial audio compatibility have arrived. On consoles, however, there will be native support for PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. On PS5 Pro, PSSR can be utilized, while on Xbox, TSR and anti-aliasing. The Metro experience can be enjoyed on consoles in 4K and 60 FPS, which will rise to 4K and 120 FPS with upscaling.
When the Next-Gen Update Releases
The next-gen update for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux will be available from October 22 on PC, while it will arrive on consoles on October 29. The update will be free for anyone who owns a copy of one of the games on Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. We also remind you that 4A Games' post-apocalyptic series will continue with Metro 2039, set to release in February.
