After almost a decade of waiting, Tom Hiddleston is ready to reprise his role as Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager, the spy series that captivated audiences and critics in 2016 thanks to its mix of (British) elegance, tension, and moral ambiguity. Prime Video and BBC One have released the first official image from the new season, confirming that the story will pick up eight years later.

Pine now lives in London with a new identity, Alex Goodwin, but peace is only an illusion: an encounter with an old enemy rekindles the shadows of the past within him. Hiddleston described his character as “older, more scarred, but still torn between duty and guilt.” Olivia Colman returns alongside him as Angela Burr, the MI6 agent who still believes in his redemption.

Return of a Cult Series

The new season also introduces new faces: Diego Calva (Babylon) plays an ambiguous Colombian businessman, while Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six) brings to life a woman trapped between power and corruption.

Filmed across the United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Colombia, the series maintains the cinematic imprint that made it a cult. Broadcaster BBC has already confirmed a third season, ideally concluding a trilogy inspired by the world of John le Carré.
