Splitgate 2 Prepares for Second Launch in December
But will a few months be enough to fix the game's problems?

The story of Splitgate is that of a franchise that achieved immense and unexpected success, but then had to contend with its creators' questionable choices. In 2021, this shooter, dubbed "Halo meets Portal," became a phenomenon, attracting millions of users; after just one year, however, the American studio 1047 Games decided to abandon the project to focus on the sequel. However, things with Splitgate 2 did not go as planned.
The Rebirth of Splitgate 2
Launched in June 2025, Splitgate 2 received a less-than-enthusiastic reception, and after a month and a half, the studio made a sensational decision: to withdraw the game and return to the beta version. Now, 1047 Games has announced on Steam that the beta will conclude on December 4. The second launch of Splitgate 2 will happen later, also in December. We don't know if a few extra months of development will be enough to save a project born under a bad sign, but we wish Splitgate fans that such a promising franchise doesn't die due to short-sighted management.
