Street Fighter: Trailer Prepares for Tournament Showdown
Beneath the surface of the World Warrior Tournament lurks a greater threat

The return of Street Fighter to the big screen takes shape with an extended trailer that aims straight for the hearts of fans. The production by Paramount Pictures and Capcom showcases an adaptation that fully embraces the spirit of the celebrated fighting game.
At the center of the story are Ryu and Ken, played by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo, called back into action by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for a new World Warrior Tournament. But beneath the surface of the tournament lurks a greater threat, capable of pitting the two friends against each other.
Balance Between Fidelity and Spectacle
Director Kitao Sakurai seems to have defined the film's imprint from the outset: respect for the original aesthetic and pure spectacle. The trailer emphasizes over-the-top fights, marked visual effects, and character design close to its video game and anime counterparts.
The cast is deliberately diverse: from Jason Momoa as Blanka to David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, passing through Joe Anoa'i (Akuma) and Curtis Jackson (Balrog). A combination that aims to blend physicality, charisma, and recognizability.
The comparison with Mortal Kombat is inevitable, but here the tone appears more colorful and dynamic. The US release is set for October 16, theoretically also internationally: premises that speak of an adaptation finally aligned with public expectations.
