Sony no longer wants to release PlayStation exclusives on PC
The change in strategy will affect the company's single-player titles

In recent years, we have witnessed a progressive convergence of Sony towards the PC video game market. Many of the Japanese company's main franchises, after a period of timed exclusivity on PlayStation platforms, have also been released on PC: for example, God of War or The Last of Us. This openness was dictated by obvious economic opportunities, but now a sensational U-turn could occur.
PlayStation games that will not be released on PC
According to a report by Bloomberg, reliable sources indicate that Sony's top management has changed its mind: in the future, no more big PlayStation titles on PC. Multiplayer-focused games, such as Marathon which arrives tomorrow, will continue to be multiplatform; those primarily focused on single-player, however, will remain an absolute exclusive to PlayStation 5.

Among the names mentioned by Bloomberg are Ghost of Yotei and Saros (and let's not forget that in September there's also a certain Wolverine), which will therefore not arrive on PC. It should be noted that Sony's attitude towards the PC market could change again in the future, depending on how the video game sector evolves and how the Japanese company's strategies change over time.
The reasons behind the refusal of PC
Among the factors that led Sony to make this decision, two main ones can be identified: first, there is the fact that PlayStation games on PC did not sell as well as the parent company expected. Secondly, the constant loss of exclusives risks damaging the PlayStation brand and the hold that consoles have on the public.
