Resident Evil Veronica: Capcom announces remake
After many rumors, confirmation finally arrives

A year ago, during Summer Game Fest 2025, Capcom announced Resident Evil Requiem, which later proved to be a huge success. Today, the Japanese company once again participated in the event to unveil another chapter in its horror franchise: Resident Evil Veronica. This is the remake of RE Code: Veronica, perhaps one of the lesser-known episodes of the series, released way back in 2000 on Sega Dreamcast.
The story of Resident Evil Veronica
Veronica takes place three months after the zombie outbreak devastated Raccoon City, and the announcement trailer shows us the beginning of its story. Among the survivors of the Raccoon City disaster is Claire Redfield, who has traveled to Paris in search of her brother Chris. However, she will find the Umbrella Corporation waiting for her, which for obscure reasons kidnaps her and drags her to a secret location.
What's new in Resident Evil Veronica
Perhaps not everyone knows that Resident Evil Code: Veronica was the first chapter in the saga to abandon pre-rendered backgrounds, adopting fully 3D environments. Its remake will obviously boast a technical sector in line with modern times and will not be the only novelty compared to the original. The gameplay has not been shown, but we know that it will also be revisited (and in all probability will be similar to that of recent RE titles). Furthermore, the plot will be modified.
Where and when Resident Evil Veronica will be released
Resident Evil Veronica will be released in 2027. Capcom's next survival horror will terrorize PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam platforms.
