The author who made us tremble with Black Mirror returns with a new Netflix series that promises to revolutionize the investigative genre. Not a classic "cop versus killer," but a dark, ironic, and disturbing thriller, as only Charlie Brooker knows how to construct.

The story follows Detective Blackmere, played by Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), who arrives in London from the fictional city of Bleakford to stop a serial killer with macabre rituals. Alongside him are a young agent (Georgina Campbell, seen in Barbarian and Black Mirror – Hang the DJ) and a history student with a troubled past, played by Lena Headey, the unforgettable Cersei from Game of Thrones.

Project Codename – Charlie Brooker

The cast is completed by Tomi May (Andor) and Aaron Wolstenholme, in a production already aiming high for intensity and quality. Filmed in Manchester under the strictest secrecy, the series – still without an official title – has already sparked curiosity thanks to set photos and Brooker's typical ploys, who used codenames like Project Codename and Blackmere to mislead the curious.

With a seasoned creative team boasting names like Annabel Jones and Jessica Rhoades and a short season of only 4 episodes, Netflix is aiming for a high-impact product, capable of blending graphic elements of Se7en with British black humor.
