Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Remake Release Date

Announced in 2020, then postponed, then reconfirmed in 2024 and arriving in 2026: we are talking about the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the classic video game that came out in 2003, back in the PlayStation 2 era. The first chapter of a trilogy, as well as the first of many titles in the franchise made by Ubisoft, The Sands of Time should soon return to our screens: an insider has revealed the alleged date.

When The Sands of Time is Expected to Be Released

The source of this rumor is journalist Tom Henderson (via Insider Gaming), according to whom the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be published by Ubisoft on January 16, 2026. Lacking official confirmation, for now take this information with a grain of salt: in all likelihood, any confirmation will come through an announcement at the upcoming Game Awards. Coincidentally, the remake recently resurfaced, after a long silence.

UPDATE: the good Henderson made a big mistake. Not only was the remake not released on the indicated date, but it was even canceled.
