Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced the start of filming for the new series Tomb Raider for Prime Video, revealing the first image of Sophie Turner as the iconic Lara Croft. A first look that confirms the concrete start of one of the most anticipated projects based on the celebrated video game franchise.

The series is inspired by the historic video game saga Tomb Raider, which tells the adventures of archaeologist and explorer Lara Croft, an iconic character of modern video game entertainment. Alongside Turner, the cast includes prominent names such as Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.

Tomb Raider is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, and Story Kitchen, with the involvement of numerous executive producers from Wells Street Films, Legendary Television, and Story Kitchen.
