One Piece 2 also debuts in cinemas...but not everywhere
In the cinema, everything is bigger: images, sound, and otherwise (im)possible immersion

The second season of One Piece will not be limited to streaming. Netflix has announced that the first two episodes, gathered under the title “Into the Grand Line”, will also arrive in cinemas on March 10, simultaneously with the launch of the entire season on the platform.
It’s a move that marks a further step in the strategy of the production giant, increasingly interested in transforming some flagship series into true cinematic events. After experiments related to special screenings and event finales, it is now the turn of the Straw Hat Pirates' adventure to attempt the leap to the big screen.

The new season will take Luffy and his companions to the dreaded Grand Line, expanding the universe based on Eiichiro Oda's manga with more ambitious settings, legendary creatures, and moments highly anticipated by fans, such as the introduction of Laboon. Elements that, in terms of scale and spectacularity, seem designed to benefit from powerful audio and cinematic-format images.
It remains to be seen whether the public will respond en masse to watch only two episodes in cinemas of a season destined immediately afterwards for home viewing. The operation could pave the way for a hybrid model for other high-budget Netflix productions, transforming a series' debut into a collective event, before returning to the sofa.
Currently, the big screen will light up only for Canada, the United States, and Japan, hoping that the large European fanbase will convince them to plan event screenings in the old continent as well.
