Octopath Traveler 0: Introduction from Tokyo Game Show

Square Enix participated in the Tokyo Game Show with a new trailer for Octopath Traveler 0, the new chapter in the HD-2D JRPG saga, so named because you'll have to… start from scratch. As explained in the video, the town of Wishvale has been razed to the ground and the protagonist will have to rebuild it from scratch, constructing buildings, planting trees, and inviting new inhabitants. Octopath Traveler 0 will therefore feature town-building mechanics, which will complement the usual combat mechanics.

The combat system presented in the trailer will be familiar to those who know the series: turn-based battles, during which it is essential to discover enemy weaknesses and exploit them, perhaps unleashing particularly powerful special moves. All this with a party fielding eight characters on the field and the novelty of abilities that can be equipped at will like items. Octopath Traveler 0 releases on December 4th on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC (Windows, Steam).
