Old GPUs aren't so old after all

As you surely – and sadly – know, this is not a good time for the hardware market aimed at the common user: mainly due to the incessant demand for processors generated by the Artificial Intelligence industry, their prices are constantly increasing and supplies are always rather scarce.
This market trend is obviously also affecting the prices of pre-built PCs and even the console market: never before in this generation have we seen a progressive increase in the price tag instead of a decrease – and this despite more than 5 years having passed since the debut of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on shelves – and according to analysts, the growth will not stop anytime soon.

Perhaps to meet public demand, or simply to avoid being completely unequipped in a market segment that cannot in fact be abandoned, it seems that Nvidia is about to resupply the market with a new production of "old" graphics cards: we are talking about the GeForce RTX 3060, which first saw the light in 2021. At least, this is what insider hongxing2020 claims, who has previously revealed Nvidia leaks that later proved correct.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, despite its venerable age, is still the most used model by PC gamers according to the survey conducted by Steam: its reliability and excellent quality/price ratio make it practically the best choice for those who do not demand maximum performance.
However, the model was discontinued in 2024 when Nvidia began to push the 40 and 50 series: if hongxing2020's rumor proves correct, it would be a significant step back for the Santa Clara company, but it could actually allow the market to "breathe" a little in the current suffocating situation.
