NieR: Automata Demands 366 GB of PC Space Due to a Bug
A rather amusing problem complicates the game's installation
NieR: Automata is rightly considered one of the best Japanese action/RPGs on the market. Developed by PlatinumGames and directed by Yoko Taro, this title has achieved well-deserved success, with over 10 million copies sold. Despite its undeniable merits, if you own the PC version, this is not a good time to install it, at least until a new bug is resolved.
Why has NieR: Automata become so heavy?
Yesterday, a patch was released that adds Chinese and Korean language support, but it brought with it a rather unpleasant error. As verified by RPGSite, the installation size has gone from 50 GB to... 366 GB! And we thought GTA VI was the heavy one… jokes aside, the bug is due to the fact that the size of individual DLCs has been inflated excessively, reaching up to 40 GB each. We trust that Square Enix will resolve the issue in a few days.
