Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is a collection that brings together the origins of the bloody fighting game, created by Midway in the early 90s. Released last Thursday, this collection includes the first chapters of the saga, enriched with various extras, most notably online multiplayer. In theory, it's an appealing product for all fans of the series, but in practice, the launch unfortunately did not live up to expectations.

The Legacy Kollection's Online Play is Lame

On day one, an essential feature like the ability to create online lobbies was missing: for now, players can only face random opponents online. This prevents players from playing online with their friends, not to mention the impossibility of organizing tournaments. Digital Eclipse, the studio behind the collection, announced via Twitter/X that the feature will be added shortly.

Other Problems with the Legacy Kollection

The lack of lobbies is just one of the Kollection's problems, and not even the most serious. On Steam, the game currently has only 46% positive reviews, and users are complaining about defects such as inconsistencies in graphics and sound mixing. The real Achilles' heel, however, is another: it seems the Kollection is plagued by input lag, which is one of the biggest problems a fighting game can encounter.
