Microsoft Studios and Mojang present Chaos Cubed, the new Game Drop (update) which is now available on Minecraft. The update introduces a new biome, the sulfur caves, dotted with sulfur pools built from sulfur and cinnabar. In this scenario hides a new creature, the Sulfur Cube, which has a great appetite for blocks. For details, visit the Minecraft website.

What's New in Chaos Cubed

  • Sulfur Cubes: Sulfur cubes are a new creature with a bizarre appetite for... blocks! Found in sulfur caves, this curious creature transforms depending on the block it absorbs. Experiment and discover how to make your sulfur cubes bounce, slide, and much more!
  • Sulfur Springs: Scattered throughout the Overworld, you'll recognize these sulfurous pools by their sulfur and cinnabar blocks, as well as the noxious gases they emit! Digging beneath them, however, you'll discover sulfur caves, rich in new blocks to mine and where you can encounter the new mob!
  • Potent Sulfur: The powerful new sulfur block is why sulfur springs are so bubbly and... a bit nauseating. You can also create hot, bubbling pools by placing potent sulfur under water! You'll immediately see columns of bubbles and puffs of noxious gas appear. Build with caution, as the noxious gas will cause nausea to nearby players and mobs!
  • Sulfur Caves: Discover this new type of cave, characterized by shallow water pools and glowing lichens. Sulfur caves are full of yellow sulfur blocks, red cinnabar blocks, sulfur spikes, and a bizarre mob called the sulfur cube!
  • New Block Sets: In the sulfur caves, you'll find two new block sets: cinnabar and sulfur! These new blocks will allow you to add warm shades of red and yellow to your creations, and each comes with a complete set of variants. You can make cobblestone from them, use them for crafting, transform them into stairs or bricks: the choice is yours!
  • Sulfur Spikes: Sulfur spikes grow on cinnabar and sulfur blocks, giving sulfur caves a unique appearance. Unlike pointed dripstone, stepping on sulfur spikes is completely harmless, although they can still fall and injure you (but this is quite rare).
  • Geysers: Watch your step or you'll fly into the air! Geysers form when a magma block is generated or placed under a potent sulfur block submerged by 1 to 4 blocks of water. Use them for vertical momentum or as a spectacular and decorative element for your landscapes!
  • Special Block: TNT - why would anyone feed a TNT block to a sulfur cube? To see what happens, of course! Try it yourself, trigger it, and enjoy (or bitterly regret) the explosive results.
  • Party for Bedrock (beta): Playing with friends has never been easier! With the beta version of Parties for Bedrock Edition on Xbox, PlayStation, and Windows PC, you can easily invite up to 14 friends to your party, seamlessly switch between worlds or realms, and plan your adventures in a dedicated private chat!
