GTA 5: Free Next-Gen Upgrade for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

It may have been released almost 13 years ago, but the interest that Grand Theft Auto V is capable of arousing in the public has not waned at all; in fact: in 2025, the blockbuster from Rockstar Games was still the third best-selling game in Italy, behind only football and has cumulatively exceeded 225 million copies, a number that makes it the second biggest success of all time, behind only Minecraft.

The Kortz Center Heist Update

Interest in the game remains alive thanks to GTA Online updates. The next one, due out in July, is called The Kortz Center Heist and, as the name suggests, it features a major robbery, which will be carried out against the Kortz Center, an art gallery that houses priceless works. Players, alone or with a crew, will therefore have to infiltrate a large building and choose the best escape route.

The Upgrade from Old to New Consoles

The main novelty of Grand Theft Auto V, however, is another: starting tomorrow, those who own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version of the game will be able to get a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S versions respectively. The free update is available for any edition of GTA 5 on PS4, while for Xbox One it is only available for the digital edition.
