Man Poses as ICE Agent to Steal a PlayStation
But Gets a Punch to the Nose and an Arrest

It happened in Pittsburgh - Pennsylvania - more precisely in the Beltzhoover suburb, an area of the city with a large Hispanic population. A 35-year-old man named William Gregory broke into a home with his face covered and brandishing a switchblade knife: he declared himself an agent of ICE - Immigration and Customs Enforcement - and demanded to see the occupants' documents.
In reality, Gregory was not part of any police force: he was a thief who thought he had found an ingenious way to take possession of the family's belongings by terrorizing them with the threat of arrests and deportations.

But it went wrong for him because his behavior aroused the suspicion of the family's seventeen-year-old, who, after having his smartphone confiscated, did not believe that his PlayStation console (we don't know the model) that Gregory was trying to take could be involved, and reacted by punching the self-proclaimed ICE agent in the face, knocking him out cold. Subsequently, the family called the police - the real ones - who ascertained the identity of the intruder and proceeded with the arrest [source: WTAE4].
This is not the first case of thieves and robbers posing as ICE agents to carry out their nefarious deeds: the broadcaster KHOU reported a similar case in Texas a few weeks ago. Obviously, the fact that Gregory was acting alone and without firearms should have immediately put the family on alert, but when threats are very high, panic often takes over. But a seventeen-year-old defending his PlayStation can find courage in unexpected ways...
