The wild and unpredictable world of Jumanji is about to return. At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Dwayne Johnson officially confirmed that Jumanji 3 will enter production in November 2025, with a theatrical release scheduled for December 11, 2026, right in the middle of the holiday season.

After the success of Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and The Next Level (2019), which together grossed over $1.7 billion, Sony is aiming for a new chapter capable of replicating the winning formula of adventure, action, and comedy. Jake Kasdan will direct again, joined by screenwriters Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.

Jumanji 3 - Dwayne Johnson Announces Return

The original cast returns in full: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan will reprise their roles as avatars trapped in cinema's craziest magical video game. Johnson joked in Toronto about his "eternal chemistry" with Hart, emphasizing how their complicity is the comedic heart of the saga. Another key element will be Jurgen the Brutal, the villain introduced in the second film. According to Johnson, he will have a central role in this new adventure, with developments that could surprise fans.

Kevin Hart hinted that Jumanji 3 could represent the conclusion of the saga, although box office numbers make it difficult to imagine Sony truly closing such a profitable franchise.
