Highguard: The Announcement Trailer for the New Shooter
An ambitious free-to-play project, arriving next month
The last big announcement of The Game Awards 2025 is the debut work from Wildlight Entertainment, a studio formed four years ago that includes a group of shooter veterans who have worked on titles like Apex Legends and Titanfall. This studio has worked in great secrecy the entire time, a factor that allowed them to present the game close to its launch, which will happen next month.
First Information on Highguard
The game is called Highguard and aims to establish itself as a novelty in the crowded shooter landscape. It is a free-to-play title described as a "PvP raid shooter": players will take on the roles of Guardians, arcane gunslingers who have been sent to take control of a mysterious continent. To succeed, it will be necessary to ride, raid, and of course, shoot.
When and Where Highguard Releases
As mentioned above, Highguard will arrive next month: Wildlight Entertainment's debut work will be released on January 26, 2026.
