Henry Cavill Injured: Highlander Reboot Slows Down
The ambitious bet to relaunch the franchise will now have to wait

The return of the immortals to the big screen needs more time. Chosen to play Connor MacLeod in the Highlander reboot, Henry Cavill revealed on social media that he had injured his leg just before filming was set to begin. The actor posted a photo on Instagram of his leg during convalescence, accompanied by William Ernest Henley's famous poem Invictus: a symbolic message to reassure fans that the battle is not over.
According to Deadline, the set directed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick) will now be postponed until the first months of next year, slowing down the highly anticipated production. It is not clear how the accident occurred: Cavill did not provide details, merely showing the photo with his inseparable French bulldog and a Warhammer book, one of his passions.

The project developed by Amazon MGM Studios had already established itself as one of the most ambitious bets of the moment. Alongside Cavill will be a highly appealing cast: Russell Crowe as Ramirez, Dave Bautista as the formidable Kurgan, Karen Gillan as Heather, as well as Djimon Hounsou, Marisa Abela, and Max Zhang.
Despite the postponement, enthusiasm remains high. With spectacular duels, action choreography, and a new vision of the saga, the Highlander reboot promises to restore the epic of the immortals to the grandeur that captivated audiences in the 80s.
