GTA 6 will not have a disc in the box at launch, nor later

Since last Thursday, pre-orders have been open for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take Two and Rockstar Games have not shared official data, but it is plausible that pre-orders have registered record figures within a few hours. The game can be pre-ordered in a physical version, but the only "physical" aspect in the strict sense is the case: inside it you will not find a disc, but only a download code.

Grand Theft Auto VI and the Code of Contention

The reason is quite simple to understand: the absence of a disc makes it impossible to lend or resell the game, to the full advantage of the producer. After pre-orders opened, rumors spread that a true physical edition, including physical media, would be released a few months after the launch of GTA 6: unfortunately, this information is incorrect.
