God of War - Amazon Series Takes Shape with Atreus

The God of War TV series is officially entering production. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios have ordered 2 full seasons, with pre-production already underway in Vancouver, confirming strong confidence in the project.

The cast continues to grow: Callum Vinson will play Atreus, alongside Ryan Hurst as Kratos. The story will center on the father-son relationship after Faye's death, an event that forces them to embark on a dangerous journey through Midgard. Atreus is a curious and sensitive child, raised away from the world, while Kratos is a god marked by his past, unable to communicate openly with his son. Vinson has already accumulated numerous appearances in major TV series such as Chucky, FBI: International, and Long Bright River.

Young and Talented

The series will directly adapt the celebrated 2018 chapter set in Norse mythology, transforming the epic action of the video game into a more intimate narrative, focused on identity, legacy, and responsibility. Monsters, Aesir gods, and the slow approach of Ragnarök will provide the backdrop for a story that emphasizes human drama more than pure spectacle.

The already announced cast includes Odin, Thor, Mimir, and the brothers Brok and Sindri, but key figures like Freya and the Valkyries are still missing, indicating that new important announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
