Dreamcore: Psychological Horror Expands with "Liminal Hotel" Level
A walk through the labyrinthine corridors of an abandoned hotel
Indie developer Montraluz, in collaboration with publisher Tlön Industries, has released a new expansion for its cult surreal psychological body-cam horror game, Dreamcore. This new chapter, Liminal Hotel, takes players on an unsettling journey through a strange, otherworldly realm: an eternal hotel, abandoned yet somehow awaiting the players' arrival.
Liminal Hotel presents the definitive version of the famous “level 188” from backrooms memes, offering a wide variety of styles in its rooms. Through the elevators, you will explore the hotel floor by floor, noticing how the atmosphere becomes timeless, filled with oddities and vintage objects.
Liminal Hotel marks a true turning point in how Dreamcore maps are created, introducing profound changes and new approaches long requested by the community. This new chapter will also reduce the puzzles that had hindered progression for many fans.
Those who already own Dreamcore will receive Liminal Hotel as free additional content. For everyone else, the chapter has been included directly in the game, which has seen a slight price increase, now set at 11.79 euros, to reflect all the content added since launch.
Dreamcore offers players the freedom to explore a multitude of extraordinary and vast worlds, built as labyrinths of liminal spaces. Loosely inspired by “backrooms” memes, Dreamcore offers a unique experience to explore these non-linear realms, each characterized by a specific puzzle that the player must solve to find its exit.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, each of Dreamcore's worlds evokes blurry and distorted memories of the 80s, enriched by the grainy aesthetic of found VHS footage. Move between interconnected structures and fascinating landscapes, where every environment encourages unparalleled adventures and explorations. Each map offers numerous possibilities, guaranteeing completely different experiences from one another.
