Cape Fear: The Series Coming to Apple TV+
After Mitchum and De Niro, the role of Max Cady has passed to another amazing actor

A psychological thriller classic returns to new life in series format. Cape Fear will debut globally on June 5 on Apple TV+ with a 2-episode premiere, followed by weekly releases every Friday until July 31, for a total of 10 episodes.
Third Reworking of the Novel "The Executioners"

The series boasts a top-tier cast: Javier Bardem plays Max Cady, a violent criminal just released from prison and thirsty for revenge, a role previously played in cinema by Robert De Niro and before him by Robert Mitchum; Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson are Anna and Tom Bowden, lawyers and spouses whose lives are turned upside down by the return of the man they helped convict.
Behind the scenes, the project is equally prestigious. The miniseries is produced by Universal Content Productions and Amblin Television, with Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as executive producers. The creation and narrative guidance are entrusted to Nick Antosca, while the pilot is directed by Morten Tyldum.

The story reworks John D. MacDonald's novel The Executioners, already adapted for cinema in 1962 by J. Lee Thompson and later by Scorsese. Everything seems to point to a tense, adult, and (hopefully) deeply disturbing thriller at least as much as the 1991 remake was.
