Beneath Publishes Roadmap, Kicks Off with Retro Mode
Let's see what future updates the shooter will bring

Publisher Wired Productions and developer Camel 101 are back to talk about Beneath, a first-person shooter with a strong survival bent and immense admiration for Lovecraft, released about a month ago on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The developer has planned a series of free updates, featuring various content and quality-of-life improvements. The first is arriving in December; let's take a look.
The Beneath Roadmap
- Retro Mode - Arriving December 18 - This is a graphic filter that gives Beneath the look of a '90s shooter, less defined and more… pixelated. The trailer below gives you an idea.
- New Game + - Arriving in 2026 - Developers are still deciding how to implement it: the balancing will need careful evaluation.
- Cheats - Arriving in 2026 - Like in the good old video games of yesteryear, there will be codes to make the experience more enjoyable. Some will surely break the game, others will have less pronounced effects.
- Horde Mode - Arriving late 2026 - A new mode where it will just be the player, their weapons, and waves of enemies to mow down.
