10 Years of Darkest Dungeon: The Series Will Continue
The developers have no intention of leaving the dungeons

After spending about a year in early access, version 1.0 of Darkest Dungeon was released on January 19, 2016: for those unfamiliar, it's a dungeon crawler characterized by roguelike mechanics, turn-based combat, and a peculiar dark fantasy aesthetic. But above all, by a level of difficulty that is nothing short of punishing, severely testing the user's endurance.
Yet, despite the frustration that can spread during gameplay sessions, this work has exerted an almost magnetic charm on millions of gamers. In the wake of its success, a sequel was born in which the developer, the Canadian Red Hook Studios, showed the courage to evolve the original formula, while maintaining the characteristic high level of challenge: we told you about it in our Darkest Dungeon II review.

Will there be a Darkest Dungeon III?
Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sygman, founders of Red Hook Studios, shared a message with the community on the occasion of Darkest Dungeon 1.0's tenth anniversary. The two emphasize that the success received was by no means guaranteed and thank everyone who has come into contact with the Darkest Dungeon universe. This universe is destined to expand further: Bourassa and Sygman ask us to "stay tuned," because they "aren't out of the dungeon yet"... Does this cryptic phrase perhaps hint at a third installment in the saga?
